Sacrilegium- Wicher Band Homeland: Poland Band Homepage: None Found Label Homepage: http://www.paganrecords.com.pl Released in 1996 on Pagan Records, “Wicher” is the only true release by the (sadly now defunct) Polish band Sacrilegium. There are demo tapes came before and after this main release, but they did not live up to the expectations of the band. Consisting of 7 tracks with a total playing time of 47:23, “Wicher” is raw and basic in quality, but rich and full in atmosphere and effect. You won’t find anything but pure and untainted Black Metal on this album, and that’s just how I like it. Musically, it draws deep inspiration from the earliest Norwegian sounds, and the vocals are almost shocking to hear. I can’t say I have heard a vocalist like this (none come to memory) and while the clean vocals are nothing special, the grim vocals are very special indeed. Raspy and bitter, not a screech per se, more like a high pitched grim roar… hard to describe, but incredible to listen to. This is an outstanding release, and is highly recommended. If you like your Black Metal raw, grim, and pure, this album is for you. TRACKLIST:
